Castries would be great place to stay. I suggest an area called Rodney Bay. Stay at the Bay Gardens Hotel or the Bay Gardens Inn - they're right next to each other. It's beautiful and located in the touristic area of Rodney Bay, there are fine restaurants and lots to do, it's also right next to the JQ Mall.
